Fun with Swirly's

Wow! I can't believe I haven't posted since July! Time sure fly's. I've been busy and made all my own Christmas cards this year, usually I wait until the last minute and end up going to Walgreens and sending out a family photo card. I still went to Walgreens but I printed up a photo collage and adhered it to the inside of my card.

With Christmas over I am moving on to making Birthday cards. I have decided to send everyone in my family and husbands family a birthday card this year (that's like 120 cards) so I will be breaking it down by month. For January I needed 3 adult female and 3 adult male cards and chose to use Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. To be honest when I first saw this set, I was not a fan at all until I started seeing some amazing cards on Pinterest and saw the versatility and then I had to have it.

I plan on getting back on track and participating in the DOstamperSTARS card challenges on Thursday's so please check back later this week.

Summer Flowers using Grateful Bunch

Home Sweet Home Challenge

Hello fellow stampers,

Today we are here with a Home Sweet Home challenge with the DOstampers. Circles & Butterflies are the focus for today's card. I did use the "Happy Birthday" greeting from Guy Greetings. Butterflies are from the Watercolor Wings and the leafs in the circles are from Awesomely Artistic. Card base and first layer are in Crumb Cake, and the Hardwood stamp was stamped off once time, also in Crumb Cake to give it a softer look. Butterfly colors are Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride and So Saffron. Leaves are in Pear Pizzazz. I took a couple close up photo's of the card so you can see how pretty the butterfly wings are with some Wink of Stella on them. I decided to forgo the butterfly antenna and used some gold metallic thread.

It is time for DOstamper Thursday Home Sweet Home challenge #170

I used Whisper White for card base and sponged Botanical Garden Vellum paper with Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crushed. I also used the same colors for the cupcakes and used Tree Builder punch and Cupcake Builder punch, added a little bit of Dazzling Details and wallah... card is complete- quick and easy!

DOstamper Stars Thursday Challenge #169

Hello stampers,

Time for another DOstamper Stars Challenge! This week is my favorite...sketch pad! So many possibilities!

For this card I was playing with floating water color technique and clear embossing. I used the Rose Wonder stamp set and spritzed it with water, then used aqua painter brush to pick up color from the re-inkers, after dry I used 2" circle to punch out and layered on top of 2-1/2" circle punch with in-color Watermelon Wonder. I used the same technique with the leaves and then punched them out with the bitty banner punch. Card base is in Tip Top Taupe, with Mint Macaron layer that has honeycomb stamp from Butterfly Basics embossed with VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder. I then used the honeycomb texture folder and cut out a section and sponged it to make it pop out a bit. A few sequins to add a little bling finishes off the card nicely.

DOstamper Stars Thursday Challenge #168

Hello again,

Time for DOstamper Stars Challenge. Today is a color challenge with basic black, melon mambo and crushed curry. I used Irresistibly Yours specialty designer paper (retired, I believe) and sponged it with melon mambo and crushed curry and wiped with tissue to remove extra ink. Layering on top of basic black card stock makes the colors stand out a bit. Super quick and easy card, yet bright and colorful.
